2. Will my child's class have a set daily schedule?

Our trained and educated staff are required to maintain an updated CPR & 1st Aid certification, Food Handler's card, be HIV/AIDS and Blood Borne Pathogens certified, TB tested, and background checked through the Washington State Patrol and FBI. In addition, Lead teachers are expected to maintain the state required trainings, and be knowledgeable in child development and curriculum as evidenced by their work experience and education/ECE certifications. Assistant teachers, or aides, are required to maintain the same state-required trainings as Leads, as well as be working towards an ECE certification.

FAQ....

We prefer to have face-to-face conversations with parents regarding their child, however in this technological era, we have learned that this may not always be the best method for communicating with our families. Our school utilizes email quite often, it's an easy way to send larger amounts of information to a big group of people. In addition, we also use an app called Remind that allows us to text with parents about various topics, and provides a quick and easy way for families to keep us up to date with what is going on with their child. In addition to that, the Remind app allows us to send quick, short messages to a group at one time. The school's sign-in and out system also has a message feature where we are able to leave notes on a student's account to be read at pick-up or drop-off.

We follow the USDA food program and provide nutritious snacks and meals daily to all of our students, and infants who are able to eat table foods. Our 4-week revolving menu provides ample fresh fruits and vegetables, and homemade meals from scratch. A copy of the current menu is displayed in every classroom.

Absolutely we are licensed! Our school has been licensed for over 12 years, and is very strict about following the state laws listed in the WAC's (Washington Administrative Code). In addition, we adhere to the teacher to child ratios set forth by the state of Washington, which means for Infants the ratio is 1 teacher to 4 infants, Toddlers is 1 teacher to 7 students, Preschool and Pre-K age is 1 teacher to 10 students.

1. Does your school teach a specific curriculum in each classroom?

3. When is the monthly tuition due, and what is included?

7. How do you communicate with parents about everyday events and incidences?

Every class is different, just as every child is different. Our highly trained staff have posted daily schedules in each classroom on the Parent Information Board, and adhere to these schedules as much as possible to maintain a consistent, structured learning environment. These schedules provide a perfect balance of academic and social learning throughout the day.

The monthly tuition includes up to 10 hours of school each day, meals, snacks, curriculum and some supplies. It is due on or before the 1st of each month. For an additional monthly fee of $15, the payment may be split up into two payments, made on the 1st and the 15th of the money.

8. Is the school state licensed, and what are the ratios?

Our Forms....

Our approach to discipline is to handle each child, and each incident independently, with patience and respect, and a focus on positive reinforcement. When at all possible, students are redirected towards another task or activity to help diffuse a situation. Discussions about alternative behaviors and choices are conducted with older students to help them think about their actions, followed up by an apology if necessary, and encouraging helpful gestures towards their peers to resolve disputes.
